Newleaze Farm occupies a delightful rural setting amidst a quiet hamlet in rolling North Wiltshire countryside. Basic amenities can be found at nearby Great Somerford, where there is a church, village shop, post office and public house. Malmesbury provides an excellent range of shops and services and other nearby local towns include Cirencester, Chippenham and Tetbury. Junction 17 of the M4 is approximately 4 miles away, whilst mainline rail services to London Paddington are available from Swindon (journey time approx 55 mins), Kemble or Chippenham stations (journey time from each approx 75 mins).
We are able to be flexible on weekend, midweek or week long stays. The house will be left perfectly suited for a comfortable and welcoming stay - the log baskets will be full, fluffy white towels for each bedroom, luxurious beds, all perfectly accompanying the homes beautiful and homely design.
Please also note that there is the option of creating a 5th bedroom downstairs, this has a large TV and private en-suite - the owners have also purchased a very comfortable, temporary double bed.
The accommodation is light and spacious with high ceilings throughout. The ground ï¬‚oor is handsomely presented with formal reception rooms at one end and a large kitchen/breakfast room with a more convivial family feel at the other. The original part of the house has a galleried entrance hall, dining room, study and an impressive utility/boot room with an Aga. The extension to the south comprises a spacious bespoke kitchen/ breakfast room by Cirencester based designers Parlour Farm. There are multiple base units with oak surfaces, twin Belfast sinks and a central island with ample storage under a black granite worktop. Cooking equipment includes Mecury 5 hob gas range, second combi oven, microwaver, warming drawer, steam oven and full height fridge & freezer plus dishwasher. The large kitchen table comfortably seats 6-8 guests.French windows provide access to a barbeque terrace and the main garden whist there are also views from the kitchen over the courtyard and stable block. Both the formal dining room and comfortable drawing room feature open fireplaces.
There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, two of which are en suite. The master bedroom has a dressing room with an extensive range of built in wardrobes and cupboards. The master plus two further bedrooms have double beds while the fourth bedroom has two doubles - it can be made up as a family room or twin.
The house is equipped with a music system that throughout; wifi is available and three televisions with DVD feature Sky services.
At the front of the main house there is a sun terrace overlooking the garden that is mostly laid to lawn whilst studded with mature trees and framed by secure fencing and a beech hedge. There is a Weber BBQ and table and chairs for 10 plus sun beds. To the rear of the house is an enclosed courtyard with two double garages and extensive equestrian facilities including barns, stables and paddocks.
There are some fantastic places of interest within a few miles of Great Somerford. Westonbirt Arboretum is just a few miles away, as it Highgrove, and Whatley Manor. The property is a convenient stay for anyone wishing to visit and make a long weekend of Badminton Horse Trials in May, just 12 miles away. The nearest pubs are the New Inn Seagry and the Somerford Arms.
