Within the village there is a small village shop (which carries basics and has very good opening hours).  In the neighbouring village of Badby there are 2 more pubs, the 'Windmill' and the 'Maltsters', these can be reached by a pleasant 20 minute walk across fields.  The beautiful 'Fawsley Hall' is 5 minutes drive away (or via footpaths).

Walking/rambling - There are fantastic walking routes in the area. The 'Nene Valley Way', which starts in Badby goes right past the house.  The website below lists walks of varying distance & difficulty.


In the neighbouring village, Badby Woods is famous for its Bluebells.

Newnham is located just south of Daventry and is a very central location with good links to M1, M40, M6.  There are train stations on the London to Birmingham route at Northampton, Rugby & Long Buckby.

Silverstone/Towcester/Northampton are all within around 20 minutes drive for Motor/Bike racing, horse racing & rugby.

The stately homes of Althorp/Stowe/Woburn Abbey & Safari park are within easy reach.  Along with Warwick & Kenilworth Castles.




Ivy Lodge is a Grade 2 listed 17th Century House, located in the pretty Northamptonshire village of Newnham.

It is a family home available for holiday/weekend rentals.  We have lived here for 6 years and the house although beautiful is a ongoing project.

The accommodation consists of 5 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) plus a downstairs toilet, 2 living rooms and a large open plan kitchen.

Bedroom 1:  Kingsize bed, with ensuite

A cot/cotbed and travel cot are also available on request.

The main living room has a stove and plenty of seating with a beautiful original sash window to the rear.

The second lviing room (snug) has a large open fire and seating.

The large kitchen has an island unit and kitchen table with chairs & a pew (seats 10).  There is an Aga with a gas hob and a additional small electric oven and a fridge/freezer and dishwasher.  There is access to a washing machine & tumble dryer in the cellar if required.  The kitchen has 2 sets of french doors leading to a large garden.  There is a wood fired oven, BBQ, large trampoline & a treehouse.

If extra accommodation is required, we also have a 14 man bell tent available at additional cost.

There is off road parking for one car, with plenty of on road parking at the front of the house.

Waitrose. Tesco and Sainsburys all deliver to our address if you require groceries.
