Torremolinos was one of the first major resorts to attract families to the Costa del Sol.
This former fishing village became famous in the 1960’s when package tour holidaymakers were attracted by its long, sandy beaches and over 320 average days of sunshine each year.
The town offers a wide choice of attractions including live music venues, a water park, a crocodile park, mini golf and a range of water sports.
La Nogalera is home to over 30 gay venues in the centre of town including late night bars and clubs.
Sun seekers and fun seekers are well catered for in Torremolinos and the centre of town is home to a choice of quirky shops, boutiques and souvenir stores.
The town is also awash with colour in the summer, with over a thousand species of trees and flowers being planted in and around the town, streets and parks.
The old fishing district of El Bajondillo is found at the end of Calle San Miguel, at the bottom of a steep flight of stairs, here you will find some excellent seafood restaurants and the beach of El Bajondillo.
