One of the oldest cities in the world, Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and the perfect place for a sunshine city break.
Popular sites in Lisbon include the Belem Tower, which is a monument to the ´Age of Discovery´ and the departure point for famous Portuguese explorer, Vasco Da Gama. Not to mention the Gothis cathedral, majestic Jeronimos Monastery and quaint museums, all worth a visit, but no more so than the pretty back streets of this beautiful city.
For spectacular views head to Miradouro do Monte Agudo. Here you'll find a peaceful cafe with the most amazing views over the orange rooftops of Lisbon. Perhaps even watch the sunset from up here, you certainly won't find a better place in Lisbon to do so.
You simply cannot miss a stroll around the Alfama, the old quarter of this ancient city. Steep narrow cobbled streets, with buildings all jostling for space, give it a village like feel. While you're here head to the Palacete Chafariz D'EI Rei for brunch. Not only is the food on offer amazing, but this beautiful building is absolutely breathtaking inside, even if it may look a little unimpressive from outside.
