Andalusia consists of eight provinces in Southern Spain. Almeria, Jaen, Huelva, Seville, Cadiz, Malaga, Granada and Cordoba.
It's a melting pot of cultures thanks to the eight century long struggle for power in the region between the Moors and the Christians. Here you'll find rolling plains, pretty pueblo blancos (white villages) clinging to the sides of mountains, bustling tourist resorts on the Costa Del Sol and quieter more laid back coastal areas throughout the rest of the region.
The area is absolutely teeming with history and if you enjoy sightseeing there is certainly an abundance of castles, palaces and Roman ruins to enjoy. Equally if you're a foodie, Andalusia offers the amazing seafood you'd expect from a coastal region, along with a special blend of Spanish and Arabian dishes which are a real treat for the tastebuds.
Home to sherry, flamenco, the beautiful white Andalucian horses and of course hours and hours of sunshine, Andalusia is a wonderful area of Spain to enjoy.
