The international airport of Edinburgh is half an hour away, or you can arrive by train into the city centre. Once in the heart of the city, it is easy to reach East Princes Street Gardens. Wherever you are staying in the area, you should be able to arrive on foot, or alternatively buses are regularly available to the gardens. Opening times vary for the different attractions, with the area opening from 10am to 10pm (closing early Xmas Eve and closed the duration of Xmas day). It is free entry, although individual rides and attractions will charge, mostly costing no more than £5.
