About The Strathpuffer

The Strathpuffer is known as one of the top ten toughest mountain bike events in the world. Taking place in the middle of the harsh winter in Inverness, this 24-hour cycling event is a real test of endurance. The aim is to complete as many 11-kilometre laps around the Highland track as you can in 24 hours, with 17 hours of night cycling. As you’d imagine, it’s not for the faint-hearted and solo cyclists travel to the event from the world over to test their mettle on this tough course. If you’re not up to the full 24-hour event yet, why not enter as part of a team?

Making the most of The Strathpuffer

Whether you’re heading to the Strathpuffer to compete or spectate, it’s hard to emphasise enough how cold it’s likely to be! With temperatures descending to minus 10 during past events, you’re likely to encounter deep snow, rain and ice. But that’s all part of the fun and it wouldn’t be a super tough endurance race otherwise! Cyclists - make sure you take your ice tyres.
