Held in the capital’s ExCeL Arena, the London Bike Show is the UK’s largest cycling exhibition, welcoming over 50,000 visitors each year. Whether you’re a seasoned mountain biker, a daily commuter through the city’s streets or a weekend warrior, you’re sure to find plenty to inspire you at this event. Visit over 300 stalls from top cycling brands and meet your cycling heroes - Sir Chris Hoy & Chris Boardman who both shared anecdotes from their illustrious careers last year. New for 2017 is the Women Who Ride section where women can meet other female bikers. You’ll also be able to rate how you stand up against the great Olympians by taking part in your very own professional performance test.
The four-day show takes place from Thursday 16th February to Sunday 19th February during the school holidays so that the whole family can attend. It’s open from 10am to 5pm on Friday and Sunday, 11am to 6pm on Thursday and 10am to 6pm on Saturday. You can find all the ticket information here. If you’re planning to travel to the venue by bike, check out this handy CycleStreets journey planner. For those travelling by tube, head to Canning Town on the Jubilee line where you can change to get the DLR (Docklands Light Railway). The nearest station to the show’s entrance is the Prince Regent stop on the DLR.
The London Bike Show includes plenty of action for those with a competitive spirit! With professional coaches advising you just how to take the turns and power down the straights, you can race against the clock or against your friends - all in front of a cheering crowd! Then head to the Air to the Throne challenge to watch the freestyle mountain bikers compete for their share of a €10,000 prize pot by displaying some gravity-defying tricks.
