Named after the Baron William Craven, a former member of the Jockey Club during the 18th Century, the Craven Meeting first took place at Newmarket Racecourse in 1771.
With a capacity for 45,000 spectators the course in Newmarket is a venue largely dedicated to thoroughbred horse racing. During the Craven Meeting, the first of the year to be held at the track, will be racing highlights such as the Listed Feilden Stakes.
Many trainers use the meeting to try out their younger horses, so ensure you study the race card and bet sensibly. There are various hospitality packages available, so why not upgrade your ticket and make it an experience to remember.
