Split Half Marathon is a road race through one of Europe’s most beautiful and ancient cities and the event attracts runners from around the globe. Established in 2001, the race has moved from the being staged exclusively in the greenery of the Marjan pensinsula to encompassing the whole city. Run past the 4th century Diocletian’s Palace through the forest park and close the half marathon with a perfect view of the city from the western zone of Split Harbour. Whether you’re coming to Split to run or to cheer on the participants, it’s the perfect opportunity to see the most of this stunning Croatian city.
The Split Half Marathon, 5 kilometre road race and the children’s “Split Mile” race take place on 26th February 2017. If you’d like to register for any of the races, please head here. The entry fee for the marathon varies according to the date on which you pay it, so the earlier you register, the cheaper the charge. The fee starts at €20 rising to €45 as time progresses. You can pick up your start package, including bib, at the Old City Hall on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th and the race will begin at 9am on Sunday 26th. There is a Pasta Party at 2pm where you can refuel your body with those essential carbohydrates.
If you’re not quite up for running the half marathon yet, why not take part in the 5-kilometre road race. You’ll still get to run through a large part of this historic city.
