About the Spanish Grand Prix
One of the oldest Formula One races in the world, the Spanish Grand Prix takes place from 12th to 14th May 2017 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Join the thousands of visitors and locals who flock to witness the event each year and to celebrate the success of Spaniard Fernando Alonso who has won the race twice - in 2006 and 2013. In the event’s history, however, it’s Michael Schumacher who has had the most success on this track, notching up an impressive six wins in this notoriously physically demanding race. The Spanish Grand Prix takes place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 12th to 14th May 2017. If you’d like to travel to Spain to watch your favourite drivers in action, you can buy tickets for this event from the Formula 1 official website or from the Circuit website. The nearest airport to the track is Barcelona International Airport and from there you can take the metro or Aerobus into the city centre. The track is 32 kilometres outside of the city - if you’re travelling by hire car, take the AP-7 toll road and come off at junctions 13, 14 or 15. If you’re arriving by train, Montmeló is the station to head for.
