Secret Solstice is a three-day festival showcasing the best in Icelandic and international rock, alternative and electronic music. The festival goes back to the country’s Nordic roots when the summer solstice was a time for a huge celebration - the island’s Northern location means that there is 24-hour sunlight during the summer solstice. Now in its fourth year, the festival attracts an impressive array of artists. Last year’s revellers partied under the midnight sun to Radiohead, St. Germain, Jamie Jones and Skream amongst many others. There is also an array of side-events - all-night after parties in volcanoes and glaciers featuring tech house and techno’s most famous turntablists.
Secret Solstice takes place on June 16, 2018 in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik. Tickets are available in various releases with the price increasing as each release sells out so it pays to book your tickets early. You can purchase Secret Solstice tickets here. As well as general admission tickets, you can also purchase VIP tickets and Super VIP Odinn tickets - aptly named after the heavyweight Norse God and allowing you access to artist-only bars and private viewing areas. To get to the festival site in Reykjavik, fly to Leifsstöõ international airport in Keflavík which is about an hour outside of the capital. From there, take a bus service or taxi to Reykjavik.
Often referred to as the world’s most unique festival, Secret Solstice really rose to the challenge of living up to its name in 2016. Having previously released the most expensive festival ticket in the world by devising a package worthy of a $200,000 price tag, last year’s task was to create a $1 million festival ticket. The golden ticket included private jet transport from anywhere on Earth, private access to the Blue Lagoon spa and a midnight sun glacier walk. If you’re not in the market for that special ticket, rest assured you can still enjoy some of the amazing side-events at the festival including a concert in a volcano and a party inside a glacier! You can book these side-events here.
