About Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, Chantilly

In a previous promotional campaign the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe was described as “It’s not a race, it’s a monument” which sets the precedent for one of the biggest horse races in the world. With a prize fund of €5,000,000 the flat horse race is second to only the Dubai World Cup. The race has traditionally taken part at Longchamp along the Seine River, originally with only French bred horses aloud to run. It is now an international event, which as of 2016 has moved to Chantilly Racecourse just outside Paris. Past winners have included the famous Italian Frankie Dettori.
