Noche de San Juan Alicante

19th June 2018 - 23rd June 2018 | Alicante, Spain, Spain

About the Noche de San Juan in Alicante

One of the biggest and certainly longest celebrations in San Juan Spain takes place over five days in Alicante each year. Large bonfires are built on the beach, along with cardboard figures that often poke fun at politicians and current affairs to be burned on the bonfire on the night of the 23rd of June.

A queen of the event, known as the Beauty of Fire, is chosen each year and there are bands, fireworks, music and dancing until the early hours.

Even after San Juan is over, there's a fireworks display which takes place over 5 days and a great medieval market too. Alicante is a great place to enjoy this fabulous spectacle.
