Much more than just a swimming pool, the National Aquatic Centre hosts swimming competitions along with a water park for the less serious swimmer. Watch competitive races, diving or a game of water polo in the professional pool. Then take the family for a fun splash about in Aquazone with water slides and pirate ships.

The National Aquatic Centre also played a part in the build up to London 2012 Olympics, acting as a training facility for 16 different countries. Outside the pool facilities the Aquatic Centre is also affiliated with the larger National Sports Campus, which includes a number of football pitches, tennis courts and much more.

Opening times for both Aquazone and the International Pool vary during the week and operate seasonal hours, so check with the venue when you wish to visit. All facilities are open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, costing €15 for adults and €13 for children (family tickets cost €47).

If you wish to go at quieter times, the prices vary depending on which areas are available although some sessions will cost as little as €3.80 for children. Check for event listings and visit as a spectator for swimming and diving competitions or Water Polo tournaments.
