About the Manchester Irish Festival

Across the city of Manchester, a series of events take place under the umbrella of the Manchester Irish Festival. Join the Irish community and embrace events from sport, film, music, poetry and dance, as well as food and drink in the Irish Festive Market. The market will be held in Albert Square, with everything from an Irish Village Green complete with a Leprechaun house to stalls selling arts and crafts. The 17th March is St Patrick’s Day, celebrated in Manchester with a special parade. First established in 1996 the festival has grown to over 200 events in as many as 100 venues.

You can travel around Manchester by public transport, including the metro link and local bus service. If you are flying into the festivities Manchester Airport is 7.5 miles from the city centre. With so many events celebrating Ireland dates and times will vary, as will prices for any ticketed events.
