About the Malaga Feria
Malaga Feria is a week long street party which kicks off with an amazing fireworks display that can be seen for miles.
It commemorates the quest of Ferdinand and Isabella over 500 years ago and the city comes alive with the sights and sounds of the fair. Fairs in Spain are a little different to those in the UK, not only do you have the usual fairgrounds, but the entire city comes out to celebrate until the early hours.
There's the traditional flamenco dancing, carriage rides, beautiful Andalucian horses, tapas, paella and fino (sherry). Malaga and Sevilla go head to head each year in an effort to out do the other in the feria stakes in terms of decorations, lights and visitors so if you're planning a holiday to the Costa Del Sol in August, you simply must pay a visit to this colourful and lively event.
