Malaga Carnival is a celebration of pagan origin which combines a variety of ancient cultures and brings everyone together in one huge street party.
This colourful event sees processions through the streets, masked performers, live music and dancing. The Carnival attracts fun seekers from all over Europe and has evolved each year to become a major happening on the Malaga events calendar. Although banned during Franco’s reign, the Carnival took to the streets once again in 1979.
