Now in its sixth year, the London Super Comic Convention has grown into one of the capital’s most important attractions for anything comic-related. The convention continues to attract the best creators, publishers and exhibitors from Europe, America and beyond. From cosplay competitions to artist tutorials and from live drawing to rare comic stalls, there is plenty to see over the extended three-day event. Get to meet the creators of your favourite characters, find that rare comic that you’ve been searching for and get your hands on some amazing new artwork created right in front of your eyes!
Such is the popularity of the convention, it’s been extended to a three-day event for the first time since its inauguration in 2012. And there’s a change of venue for 2018 too: the festival will now be held at the centrally-located Business Design Centre in Upper Street. If you’re travelling by tube, the nearest stations to the venue are Angel and Highbury & Islington. Wherever you’re coming from, you’ll be able to plan your trip quickly and easily using Transport for London’s Journey Planner. If, like many of the exhibitors, you’ll be flying in for the event, Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted are all accessible via a train service into Central London.
If you’re planning on travelling to the convention, make sure you regularly check the official website for details of the special guests. Last year’s attendees including Judge Dredd artist Brian Bolland, Marvel Comics writer and Senior Vice President CB Cebulski and writer/illustrator Frank Cho, best known for his work on The Hulk and X-Men. Also be sure to do some prior shopping for your entry into the London Super Costume Championship. Success in this event could land you with a trip for two to the convention’s New York counterpart.
