About the Inverness Half Marathon

The Inverness Half Marathon is an established race along the banks of the River Ness in the Scottish Highlands which has an emphasis on inclusivity and fun. Known for the beautiful scenery which you’ll encounter along the course, the Half Marathon is a great experience for runners and spectators alike. If you’re not quite up to the Half Marathon but you’d still like to take part, you can enter the 5-kilometre fun run either for charity or just for pure personal enjoyment.

Helpful information about the Inverness Half Marathon

The event takes place at 12.30pm on Sunday 12th March and begins at Bught Road, parallel to the River Ness. If you’d like to enter the race, please head to the official website and follow instructions on how to enter in advance as no entries on the day are permitted for the Half Marathon. The race ends at the Queens Park Stadium at Inverness Sports Centre. If you’d like to spectate, then this is a great place to stand and cheer on the participants as they complete this amazing personal achievement. If you’re planning on attending the event, either to run or to spectate, please bear in mind that the roads will be closed for the runners. It’s therefore advisable to park some distance away from the city centre and allow time to walk to the start of the race.
