Now in its ninth year, the Inverness Classic Vehicle Show is a large parade of vintage vehicles which takes place through the streets of the city centre. Get up close and personal to these historic automobiles and chat to the owners while the cars are on display. There will also be plenty of live music, street performers and food stalls to keep you entertained and your tummies full during the event. The highlight of the event is the Parade Finale during which the historic cars are led through the city streets by the traditional Norcon Pipe Band.
The Inverness Classic Vehicle Show is an annual event which takes place on Saturday 13th May 2017. The event is free but we’d recommend getting there nice and early as there are bound to be fairly large crowds. Don’t forget that the main roads around the city centre will be closed for the vintage car parade. The classic automobiles will be on display in Falcon Square, High Street, Inglis Street and Church Street with the Parade Finale setting off from the High Street at 3pm. If you’re travelling a long distance to get to the show, you can fly into Inverness Airport which is just 15 kilometres from the city centre. There are also coach, bus and rail services from most main cities in the UK.
The Classic Vehicle Show has a wonderful tradition of providing free tours around the city to complement the vehicle theme. Take your place aboard the city sightseeing bus and learn about the history of some of the city’s famous monuments, including Inverness Castle. There are likely to be some additional events taking place at the Victorian Market - last year featured a unique collection of Vintage prams and pushchairs.
