The festival takes place in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrés in Cannes in the South of France. The nearest airports to the event are Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport and Cannes-Mandelieu. To get from Nice airport to Cannes, you can take the number 23 bus from Terminal 1 to the St. Augustin train station where you can get a train to Cannes which should take around 40 minutes. Alternatively, there are plenty of taxis operating at the airport. The festival is free to enter and is open on Friday 24th from 12pm to 9pm, on Saturday 25th from 10am to 8pm and on Sunday 26th from 10am to 7pm.
If you’re simply browsing at the festival, you can enter some tournaments on the fly without registering. However, if you’re set on taking home a trophy for chess, scrabble, draughts or card games, you’ll need to pre-register for the competitions at the official website.
