About the Henley Royal Regatta
The Henley Royal Regatta takes place from 27th June - 1st July 2012 and consists of head to head knockouts over 19 different events along the river Thames. The most prominent event at the Henley Regatta is the Grand Challenge Cup for the Men’s Eights which has been going since the Regatta first began in 1839. The year 2012 will also see the new event of the Junior Womens Quadruple Sculls. Rowing events aside, the Regatta is renowned as one the British events of the summer and also offers an amazing fireworks display on the Saturday night with live bands playing along the riverside and then of course there is the social highlight of the event, the Regatta Ball.
