Green Man Festival, nestled in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, is one of the UK’s most-loved independent music festivals. Founded in 2003, it’s renowned for being non-corporate, ethical and eco-friendly - and is respected for resisting the temptation to sell out to sponsors. This inclusive event in the Black Mountains is also known for attracting great alternative acts - Bon Iver, Belle & Sebastian, Patti Smith and James Blake have all graced its stages. It’s also appreciated for its non-musical activities - take part in yoga, pilates and meditation and be entertained by comedy, spoken word and even informative lectures from scientists in the Einstein’s Garden area.
Green Man Festival is a four-day festival in the Brecon Beacons in Wales. If you’re travelling to Green Man by car, don’t forget to buy a £15 Car Park ticket in advance or a £5 Park and Ride ticket which allows you to park a few miles from the site and jump on a shuttle bus to the venue, thereby saving some time in the parking queue. If you’re travelling by train, the nearest station to the festival is Abergavenny.
With only a 20,000 capacity, Green Man is known for its intimate atmosphere and family-friendly feel. This also means that it regularly sells out and, with Early Bird tickets already gone, we’d recommend that you book your festival tickets now to avoid disappointment. If you’d like to bring your children, they’re more than welcome. Green Man encourages children to be fully active in the festival experience; not just confined to a kids’ area. This doesn’t mean that the entertainment ends early, however: there are all-night cinema screenings of cult classics and new releases, along with top DJs and helter skelter rides to keep you up throughout the night.
