About the German Open Tennis Championships

Part of the men’s ATP tour, the German Open in Hamburg is a tennis tournament which takes place at the city’s Rothenbaum tennis centre. With the matches played on fast clay courts, the tournament has attracted top-name players from around the world. Roger Federer, Goran Ivanišević and Rafael Nadal have all played on the Hamburg Courts with the top-ranking Spaniard taking the title in 2015. Come to Hamburg in July to see whether the Czech Republic’s Martin Kližan can successfully defend his title.

The German Open takes place from 22nd July to 30th July 2017 at the Rothenbaum tennis centre near the Außenalster. There are several ticketing options depending on the day you’d like to attend - you can access them all here. Prices range from €19 to €79 with season tickets for entry to all matches throughout the week-long tournament also available. All tickets for the tennis also grant you free public transport on Hamburg’s transport bus and rail network - plan your journey to Rothenbaum here. If you’re flying in for the German Open, your nearest airport is Hamburg International. From there, take the overground train S1 to Ohlsdorf. Change to the U1 underground system and you’ll find the tennis centre close to Hallerstraße station.
