About the Dublin Horse Show (Dates to be confirmed)

Held over five days in August at the historic Royal Dublin Society, the Dublin Horse Show is one of Ireland’s premier showjumping, performance and entertainment events. With the one of the first showjumping contests in the world having taken place at the RDS in 1868, the venue has a long history of equestrian entertainment. The packed programme features a full intinerary of showjumping and equestrian performances together with masterclasses from the experts. In addition to the horse riding, there are plenty of stalls fulfill your shopping needs and a wide range of entertainment for the evening, including clowns, magicians and acoustic bands. 

Helpful information about the Dublin Horse Show

The Dublin Horse Show takes place  at the Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridge. The show will be open from 7am until 8pm from Wednesday to Saturday and will close at 7pm on the final day. Tickets are available from the show website and vary according to admission type, of which there are multiple. A single admission ticket (non-seated) for one day of the festival costs €22 and a seated stand ticket (which allows you a seat to watch the showjumping competitions) costs €35. If you’re planning to attend the show, fly in to Dublin International Airport and then take the Aircoach airport bus for the 16-kilometre ride to Merrion Road where the RDS is located.

For many, one of the highlights of the Dublin Horse Show is Ladies’ Day. This is truly a day to dress up in your finest threads, whether you’re a man or a woman. The main event is the judging of the Best Dressed Lady and with a prize of €10,000 to be spent in Dublin’s Dundrum Town Centre, it’s certainly worth entering. Other competitions include the Best Dressed Man, the ‘Elegance is an Attitude’ prize and the Most Creative Hat award.
