The Croatia Open, one of Europe’s biggest Taekwondo events, takes place at the Sport Hall Arena in Zagreb each year in November. The 23rd edition of this exciting sporting event welcomes teams and individuals from countries as diverse as Germany, Puerto Rico and Azerbaijan. There will also be competitors from Korea, the birthplace of this fast-moving martial art. The Croatia Open is a three-day tournament which takes place in November 2017. The competitor registration and weigh-in takes place on Friday with the qualifying fights kicking off at 9.30 on Saturday morning. For those events which are completed on Saturday, the medal ceremony will take place that night with the remaining fights occurring on the final day. If you’d like to attend this event, fly in to Zagreb’s Pleso International Airport. From there, you can take a ride on the special Taekwondo Federation bus to the Sport Hall. Alternatively, take the normal airport bus to the main bus station and head into the city on the train from there.
