| Blackhorse Road Workshop, United Kingdom
This course will introduce you to using the broader spectrum of workshop equipment. Using a range of power and machine tools, you’ll learn to construct a small table, designed around the traditional mortice and tenon frame construction. As well as hand skills, you’ll learn to use equipment such as the electric hand-held router, biscuit jointer, chisel morticer and machine sander in the making of your piece. Every session combines teacher-led demonstrations with 1:1 tuition ensuring learners of all abilities are supported according to their individual needs. We have extended the course to 8 weeks following on from previous course feedback. This course will be led by our technician Toby Poolman, our resident wood technician. Toby originally trained as a furniture designer/maker, and has since worked as furniture maker, timber-framed building craftsman and college lecturer. Please note that refunds and/or changes to ticket are available up to 7 days before course start date.
