About Earls Court and The Basketball Arena
Earls Court and The Basketball Arena are both the major venues for the Ball Sports at the London 2012 Olympics. The well-established Earls Court venue, capable of holding an audience of up to 15,000, will host the world-class Volleyball, whilst the newly built and also temporary Basketball Arena, capable of holding 12,000 guests, shall host both the Basketball and Handball. Some Basketball events will also be held in the North Greenwich Arena, which was originally built to house London's Millennium celebrations and can hold up to 20,000 people. Handball and Goalball events will be held in the Handball Arena, which is a distinctive new venue with an eye-catching recycled copper cladding. The Handball Arena can hold up to 7,000 spectators.
