Find Accommodation for the Moto GP at Silverstone.

The British Moto GP at Silverstone

As the summer season rolls in, some of you will be thinking about sun, sea and sand, ice creams and picnics in the park! There are a few of us however, who although all that sun and ice cream sounds great, look to the summer as a time to let our hair down with some of the most exciting sporting fixtures and petrol filled excitement of the year! This weekend the Air Asia Moto GP series comes to the UK and one of the most historical race tracks in the world: Silverstone.

Silverstone has become one of the most prestigious race tracks in motor sport history, with over 60 years of historic and landmark moments in both motorbike and car racing. Along with a brand new multi million pound pit lane and paddock, Silverstone is now one of the most advanced and best loved venues in motorsport.

The Moto GP season is hotting up after 5 stages, with last week’s Catalunya Grand Prix proving that this year’s title is up for grabs and every race will count. Casey Stoner closed the gap on table leader Jorge Lorenzo with the difference now at 7 points. The Great British GP marks the first 3rd of the season over, and the gap between the top 2, and 3rd place is likely to increase with almost 30 points being the difference after just 5 races. Accommodation in Surrey for Ascot

Accommodation for Royal Ascot

Being the equestrian lover that I am, the start of summer always excites me as it means one very key thing… the new equestrian season is well under way! Here are my top 3 ‘horsey’ events in June which I believe are truly unmissable events and each one will guarantee to provide a great day out for all!

Kicking off in style with the Bramham International Horse Trails, held between 2nd – 5th June 2011. This exhilarating 3 day event takes place in North Yorkshire and is fast becoming known for its critically acclaimed cross country course which promises the spectator every inch of excitement. The trails begin with a dressage test which can be described to the non-horsey persona as a graceful dance on horseback, followed by the long and gruelling cross country test which evaluates stamina of both horse and rider. Finally the crucial show jumping phase which tests their technical jumping skills, inviting plenty of “oooooh’s” and “ahhhhh’s” from the crowd! This year the shopping village has been expanded extensively and given a new layout sending shopaholics into paradise, I for one included. I would highly recommend staying nearby and making your trip more of a holiday as the nearby town of Harrogate offers some fantastic bars and restaurants. Accommodation such as a boutique cottage will make your stay extra special. Read the rest of this entry »
