The ultimate alternative self catering accommodation in London!
I don’t know of many people who have booked a yacht or a canal boat to enjoy London or to escape to the country but I know I would be most impressed if my partner had booked such an alternative place to stay! The perfect short break for the family in historic Plymouth
By this stage of the summer holiday I am seriously staring to feel a little jaded about what more I can do to entertain the kids in the school holidays. Find Accommodation for Wimbledon
If you have never experienced the sheer thrill and excitement of English Tennis at its best then this is the summer to get yourself to Wimbledon. It is seen as one of the best British summer events. This year the Championships are celebrating their 125th anniversary which begins on Monday 20th June and concludes with the men’s nail biting final on Sunday 3rd July.

So who are the key contenders to win the £1.1million pound prize money? Fresh from his recent win at the French open is the Spaniard, Rafael Nadal, along with his opponent and runner up Roger Federer. Nadal will be looking to win his 3rd title in 4 years as the world number, taking the crown from the brilliant Roger Federer in 2008. Where are you going on holiday this year? If the answer is nowhere because everywhere is too expensive, can’t find flights, car hire, food etc etc etc. then why not consider a holiday in the UK. With such wonderful places to visit right on your doorstep, then why not say goodbye to bad plane food and crowded beaches, and say hello the beautiful areas of Cornwall, Devon and the Cotswolds.
Self-catering Accommodation in Devon
Up until last year, we were always overseas holiday makers – but then with budget pretty tight, we decided to try a UK holiday to see what was on offer. This turned out to be an excellent decision and we were not disappointed with the wonderful countryside, golden beaches and great attractions for the kids on offer in the UK. A firm favourite of ours was Devon, with beautiful sandy beaches, plenty of fun activities for the children, lovely long walks, fabulous pubs to visit for lunch and dinner and we actually had brilliant weather. Devon offers such lovely places such as Croyde Bay, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and with fabulous properties to rent from apartments for 2 up to family properties housing 12+ like this beautiful beach house in Ilfracombe. So although the rain may be pouring outside, I have been informed by a ‘reliable’ source that this Bank Holiday weekend should, fingers crossed, stay dry, which gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the beautiful British countryside. We only get 8 bank holidays a year, ok so this year we’ll have 9, thanks to Wills and Kate, so we really ought to make the most of them and get the whole family out for a day in the sunshine.
Being the avid racing fan that I am, this weekend I’m packing up the car with a scrumptious picnic and heading to Stratford upon Avon for some exhilarating summer jump racing. It’s a chance for the ladies to get a bit glammed up, the gents to have a little flutter and kids to fill their lungs with some fresh air. It won’t break the bank balance either with prices from £8.00 and children under 18 free. Best of all it’s an evening meet with racing starting at 5.50pm, giving you the opportunity to perhaps visit the family or carry out some chores first or in my case the chance to head into town after to celebrate all my winnings!
