This is one of the best places to eat seafood in town. Proto dates back to 1886 and has a reputation for fine dining and tradition. Elegant and stylish, this famous restaurant offers a delicious range of fish, seafood and meat dishes including: Dalmation fish stew, mussels mariniere, and sea bass with fresh saffron to name but a few. The menu changes seasonally, and there is always plenty to choose from. Not the cheapest in Dubrovnik, but it doesn´t claim to be, and if you are looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion, this is the place to be seen. Lokanda Peskarija

Great atmosphere next to the fish market, where much of the fresh fish on the menu is sourced. Many traditional dishes and lovely shaded tables outdoors. Try the octopus salad or the seafood spaghetti. This place has a quick turnover and you will not eat fresher fish anywhere. Great for lunch or a romantic evening meal. Views over the quay attract many guests and this place gets very busy in summer.
