This is a lovely restaurant with excellent service, good wine and heavenly food. For the high level of service and cuisine, this is very reasonable compared to other nearby restaurants. Do try the black and white truffle pasta it is to die for! The garden is beautiful full of gorgeous coloured flowers.

Japanese Restaurant Tekka

A fabulous restaurant, amazing food and a great atmosphere! The spring rolls are delicious as is the Sapporo sushi. The service is excellent with helpful and attentive staff. If you happen go at lunchtime the menu is delightful, serving fresh tuna sashimi which is amazing and their deserts are equally gorgeous too!

Ribice I Tri Tockice

This is a great affordable option to try local seafood. It is located within the centre of the city in a beautifully decorated space. Do try the homemade pasta with shells or grilled shark or shrimps. They do a gorgeous tuna pašticada (Dalmatian stew) and serve a very large selection of mouth-watering deserts.

El Toro Restaurant & Bar

This is a lovely ambient restaurant for lunch or dinner. A huge golden bull looms above the entrance which is visually very impressive. The food is excellent and modern with many interesting ingredients, so don’t expect traditional food. The food is amazing, the wine superb and the service is excellent with very helpful staff! The food could easily be served at a Michelin restaurant and the price is well worth it. However, it is more expensive than other local restaurants but you will not be disappointed.

Time Restaurant & Bar

A lovely place for lunch and dinner, the sushi is excellent and there was a very good variety. All the food is fresh and beautifully presented. The waiters are very pleasant and helpful. An absolute ‘must’ is to try their famous desserts, especially the chocolate and hazelnut surprise. The atmosphere is very relaxed making it really good to enjoy on hot summer nights.

Konoba Dida

This is a gorgeous and authentic restaurant with a cosy atmosphere. Professional staff will show you what fish is on offer and the selection of fresh sea fish and seafood specialties. The wine list is varied and interesting. The prices are quite high but well worth it. If you order a cake for desert – do be aware they huge!

Restoran Bonaca

Bonaca is small local restaurant near the Trešnjevka food market – one of the biggest in Zagreb. Apart from near-by Bonaca there are a lot of small kiosks and local bistros around the market. However, in Bonaca you will eat the best fresh fish and seafood meals; they also serve great pasta and delicious homemade soup. It is quite small, so you will need to book early for to get a reservation.
