Next week beginning Tuesday 14th June – Saturday 18th is the much anticipated Royal Ascot. Known as the ‘The greatest race meeting in the world’, it is deemed to be the centre piece of the British social calendar and brings together exhilarating sport, tradition and fashion, all set within some of the most beautiful settings within historic England.
Part of the attraction of going to Royal Ascot is seeing how everyone is dressed. The highlight of the week is Ladies Day which also combines the Group 1 Gold Cup with what is effectively a fashion show. Although the whole week consists of style and glamour, Ladies Day always seems to reach new heights with astonishing millinery creations and glamorous dresses.
Although you may associate Ascot with top hats and tails, this is only mandatory if you are invited to the event or you are a member of the Royal Enclosure. Ladies should note that shoulders must be covered and skirts should not come above the knee. However if you have Grandstand or Silver Ring admission the dress code is slightly more relaxed, making this a fantastic opportunity to pull on your glad rags and enjoy the excitement of the equestrian event of the summer.
The good news is if you would love to be a part of this renowned event then there are still selected tickets available. Prices vary depending on which enclosure you chose and on which of the 5 days you decide to visit. Just visit the Ascot website for more details.
If you’re travelling from a far and want to beat the queues getting in and out of the racecourse then why not book a place to stay to make your visit more enjoyable. Eventful Stays has a range of accommodation available near the racecourse, from modern self-catering apartments through to luxury houses, perfect for entertaining friends and family after an enjoyable day out at the races.
Be sure to make Royal Ascot one of the events you attend this summer as it really should be something that everyone should be able to tick of their bucket list. Come rain or shine, win or lose, you are guaranteed to have a fabulous day at the races.
