Built in 1068 by request of William the Conqueror, Warwick Castle is a medieval castle situated on the river Avon.  The wooden construction of the castle was rebuilt in stone during the 12th century and continued be an active fortress up until the early 1600’s. 

Re-live the Castle’s past with daily re-enactments of mock battles and jousting tournaments.  Brave the dungeons where you will encounter witches, torturers, the castle cook and more who have been condemned to the cells.  Walk around the grounds and exhibits to experience a place of history, see how it has been preserved in time and how the 11 centuries of history are continually being restored.

The castle is open all year (except Christmas day) from 10am, although closing times vary month to month so arrive early or check with the venue before you visit.  Prices on the gate are £25.20 for adults and £22.50 for children, reduced prices of £20.50 and £17.60 per person are available if you book in advance.  

Nearest airport to Warwick is Birmingham Airport, which is only a 30-minute drive away.  With plenty of special one off weekends for all the family check the castle’s events listing and plan ahead.  There are also a variety of daily live performances, so stay the whole day to ensure you make the most of your time within the castle grounds.
