Largely quiet during the day, Bourbon Street comes alive at night, particularly during the French Quarter's many festivals. Most famous of these is the annual Mardi Gras celebration, when the streets are visited upon by thousands of people.

About Bourbon Street

The Street extends 13 blocks from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue and provides a rich insight into New Orleans' past. Of course, Bourbon Street is the core of New Orleans' nightlife. It is a street that runs the length of the historic French Quarter, and is lined with bars, nightclubs, and souvenir shops. Beautiful architecture and balconies, fun things to see, great bars and restaurants.

Bourbon Street has some fantastic bands playing some great music in its bars, ranging from rock to jazz to rap to funk. The nightlife does go on very late, as New Orleans does not have a mandatory closing hour for bars.  The French Quarter has the best restaurants and the streets are much quieter.There are many tours available
